In my view even falling in love with a human wasn't so bad, frowned upon at most but not exactly against the rules. It's clear the Celestial Realm was a little softer on the subject of interacting with humans at that time. Even after death she was trying to help her brothers. Lilith is just a victim of circumstance, and we don't know that she wasn't willing to face the consequences. Lucifer defied Diavolo himself for Belphie's sake, just like he went up against his father for Lilith's sake. Belphie certainly milks the fact that he's the youngest now to emotionally manipulate his brothers and get what he wants, and I think he manages to do this specifically because his brothers feel protective towards him. Belphie was closest to Lilith and he took the brunt of that emotional pain, so I think all the other brothers walked on eggshells and made a lot more allowances for Belphie (and maybe also Beel) because of that. There's a devilgram (I think it's "The Rulebook") that flashes back to right after the fall and the brothers' arrival in the Devildom, and Mammon remarks that the twins' wounds are mostly emotional. They'd be sniping and arguing and bantering with her as much as they do amongst themselves, though I think they would be slightly less emotionally messed up if they hadn't lost her.īelphie, at the very least, would be different. If she hadn't died, if she'd fallen along with them and before a demon as well, I think they'd have just as contentious a relationship with her as they do with each other. But emotionally, that's hard to deal with, so he did what a lot of people do and displaced his anger in his grief, blaming humans for something that they, objectively, had no hand in.Īlso, regarding Lilith herself, I think the brothers have something of a rosy view of her specifically because she died. After all, if he hadn't been so fascinated with humans, his baby sister wouldn't have gotten into this mess. Likely the real reason Belphegor became warped by hatred is because on some level, he thought he was the beginning of the domino effect that led to Lilith's death. Belphie was the one who originally became fascinated with humans and Lilith picked that up from him. I think it's weird blaming Lilith for Belphegor hating humans. After what happened to Lilith, the link with the human world broke, that's my guess. So, to cope, it was easier for that character to develop hatred towards humans (he didn't like a specific one) than towards other angels that he may still have affection for.Īlso, humans were the link of that special relationships between Lilith and the two others characters. One thing that we know is that some characters in the Celestial Realm are still fond of the brothers. As far as we know, he loved the human world deeply because of it is beautiful and what humans were doing (circus, for an example), but I don't remember him liking or loving a specific human. The hatred was probably as a way to cope. She is not responsible of the hatred that character has towards humans up to lesson 16. What happened to Lilith just sped things up. The brothers were already unhappy about how things were in the Celestial Realm. The course of her actions was not the best but I think it's a bit of a stretch to say she is responsible for the war and what happened to that character. I'm quite indifferent towards Lilith as for now. They are in charge of how they process their trauma and grief - that's not something we can pin on their deceased sister □♀️ I do however have a strong need to knock the brothers' heads together and herd them to a family therapist. I don't think we get enough information about Lilith for me to decide if I actually like her or not.so I don't have a strong opinion about her in particular. But from what we glimpse from their life in the Celestial Realm, it sounds like there was a lot more going on than what was happening with her (which is something that I hope comes up in the new season! I felt like there was a bit of foreshadowing about that so □) and that the Lilith situation was just the straw that broke the camel's back. Was how Lilith went about it the best way? No. In terms of how the brothers were affected in the long term, I'm more annoyed with the 7 of them sitting on it for thousands of years instead of talking about it all (between themselves or with a third party □ Especially because so much of their grief overlaps! And MC isn't likely a licensed therapist specialising in the grief process for immortals □ Fan Art must be work of your own, otherwise must have permission from original artist to repost.Įxtended information on our rules found here.Low-effort posts are no longer allowed.
